Yellow daisy ID

I see this bushy daisy growing along part trails here in Atlanta, GA. Anybody know what this is? It is has been flowering this month (september). Seems to do well without any care.

Looks like a helianthus, one of the sunflower family.

Yes, I agree it is probably a sunflower - helianthus species. These are easy to grow, but they need some space. They can be readily transplanted by pulling up a few stems, which will come out of the ground with some roots and stolons. Cut the stems down to about a foot tall and only a couple of leaves, and plant in almost any soil. Water them this fall, and you should have a nice plant by next summer. Any wild clump can afford to give up a few stems, since they spread pretty aggressively.

Now that I look at the blooms on the LEFT, I'd say it might be a black eyed susan instead (Rudbeckia of some type). The picture is kind of blurry ....

Those green things on the back are called "involucral bracts" (I learned that in a workshop a few years ago). I think you can see here that they are overlapping, which is characteristic of Helianthus. That's not to say that they don't overlap in others, but that combined with the length and shape of the bracts themselves and the scratchy leaves, etc ..... So, does still seem to be Helianthus and I would tend towards H. divaricatus which is certainly in the general area - I often find it on the edges of woods. Correct, both Senecio plattensis and S.aureus are now Packera plattensis and P.aurea I beieve the plant is P.aurea -- look at the basal leaves clearly seen on "Yellow weed pt2" link above. Compare them to plattensis/aurea basal leaves (more images could be found under the old name -- Senecio aureus).

Yes, I'm also not happy about how Houzz changed the forum list around. Trying to find your forum, is like trying to find a needle in a haystack now. I have found that if you google the forum you want, you can get there faster, like if you want the Butterfly Forum, you can google gardenweb butterfly forum. Your plant looks like something in the Aster family, either Rudbeckia, or Helianthus.

I can't say for sure but it might be helianthus divaricatus or woodland sunflower.
