I would wait until March to do any pruning of it unless it looks bad. They sometimes lose leaves when we get a cold snap like we did in 2010. I usually cut it back to a height where it will look bushy. I've seen them all different sizes from a couple of feet tall to 12 feet tall. Mine is about 7 feet tall now, but is losing some leaves because of the cool nights we had in November. Less leaves seem to come off if I water it a bit because here in Sarasota we've only had about 1 1/3 inches of rain since November one and most of it 2 days ago. They say it's natural to lose some leaves when nights start getting below 50 degrees.
