Unknown Wildflower

Does anyone know what kind of flower this is? It kind of looks like a clematis or an old fashioned single petal rose but it is not a vine or a shrub? It looks more like a wild flower, I just don't know what kind. If anyone knows what it is I would be most grateful!

Actually the correct terminology is Anemone x hybrida - 'Robustissima' is a cultivar name.

And obviously not a native plant :-)

Yeah I did notice that it was Cryptantha, but which one has been the hard part. The ID as Lepidium fremontii for the second plant seems correct. Thanks for your responses.

"Conyza canadensis can reach 2 m in height and exceptionally large specimens can reach 3.5 m. From what I can father from the Flora of North America it appears that Conyza sumatrensis doesn't occur in North America." OK thanks. Can someone show me where the "bracts" are in this picture? "Robustissima" says it all - a very vigorous plant with a spreading habit, winter hardy in zones 4-8. You should have no trouble growing it in NY.
