Geranium turning yellow

I bought two wild geraniums (Geranium maculatum) in April and planted them in separate sections of the yard, both in partial shade. I've been watering regularly. One did much better than the other from the start. Eventually both began flowering, but now one of them is turning yellow (the leaves, not the flowers) and appears to be dying (bottom leaves shriveling up). What did I do wrong? Any ideas? Can it be saved?
