I am sorry, do not have a photo, but I will describe as best I can. First off, it is NOT Indian pipe; I have those. This wee sweet thing had waxy, leafless(ok, they were scales and tight to stem), white-gray colorless stem approx 2" tall that looked like macrocarpa stems but thinner; topped by single pendant, bell-shaped clear pink flower approx 1/4", one per stem. The erect stems came up in clusters, in shade, in a garden bed - not in the woods, but they look like woodland things. Bloomed here in Maine in early June, lasted a few days, now have bulbous seedheads at end of stem and the entire thing has turned a rich brown. I tried to ID on several plant / botanical sites with no luck - hoping someone has seen them! The garden is established, but this is the first time I have seen this mysterious stranger. Any ideas?
