I blanched and froze a sink full of assorted mustards last night, and your strain looks like a good one, with thin leaves and crisp ribs. Should be tasty stir-fried and drizzled with a sweet/sour dressing. The raw leaves work well in fruit-veggie smoothies, too. If you pick 3 leaves at a time per plant, you will get at least three harvests from fall mustard.

At my my Nephew 's yard they have this plant(exact the same as in the picture above.) Last year they were collecting the leaves(for decorative use). Actually they are pods with seeds inside. The had almost one pound of seeds that they throw away. The plant is perennial , I think. It is also prolific by way of seeding. I will find out how it taste. BTW: It is simple to make home made mustard; Just ground mustard seeds in your coffee mill and add water/white wine to it to make it to the consistency that you like. I buy white mustard powder from grocery store and make fresh every time that I need it. In Chinese restaurants they serve thin one as deep. Ever since I have discovered this, I will never again buy mustard paste, with so many additives. Now I will try Money plant seeds too.

I bought a plant for my raised beds at Marshall Grain and it turns out the plant was mislabeled. I have a Giant Red Mustard Plant if anyone would like it. I'm on the west side of Southlake.

It should not be bad for the worms, whatever it is in the plants will get broken down in the pile. That said, any ability to suppress soil pathogens would likely be minimal after being composted. One small caveat: if an enormous amount of something the worms don't like or contains substances that are bad for them is added all at once, and the pile too small for the worms to avoid, it might be bad for them. The worms will 'move in' and feed when it's safe and tasty for them (i.e. sufficiently broken down). This is true of much other stuff that is said to be bad for worms, like citrus: yes, they'll avoid citrus, and citrus may contain stuff that's bad for them, but after the citrus has degraded enough, they'll eat that, too. Add modest amounts of citrus to a pile and the worms ignore it for a while, but eventually move in. Whatever you do, makes sense to test it with modest amounts in bunches, just in case. Also: the mustard or brassicacae family contains an enormous amount of plants that we eat and add to compost piles all the time. Brassica alone has single 'species' with dozens of cultivars - cauliflower, broccoli, kale, etc. So don't worry too much about your mustard plants.
