Once you factor in moisture, soil components and natural predators, it's always wisest to think twice before planting something unless experience has shown that it behaves in your garden. Certain native species can also run rampant when planted in areas where they aren't traditionally native. Have I erred when planting certain perennials after hints on this forum suggested they were invasive? Let me count the number of self-sown seedlings I've regretted. I've no experience with Filipendula since I've never been tempted to plant it. I just make certain I've done my homework before digging a planting hole or setting something in it. The first one is a redbud tree, Cercis canadensis. Number two - that is incredible, I've not seen anything like it. Where is this located (city,state)? Are the leaves really silver colored? Otherwise it reminds me a bit in structure of wax myrtle. Number 3 is a wild Rubus, something like blackberry. Four, I am not sure, what does the foliage look like? Five looks like a Baptisia, as does #6.

Well these look like bluets (Houstonia)...the particular species is left for you determine since you can see the plant itself and can answer questions.

I love wildflowers. I am still discovering blooms I have never seen before here at my place after nearly twenty years. I don't know any of the names but am always pleasantly surprised.
