too late to transplant goldenrods, in NE?

I had an ugly sidewalk taken up so that I could expand the garden (but of course!), and in the doing I had to temporarily relocate a lot of healthy goldenrods--S. sphacelata (sp?) Crown of Gold and some unnamed tall types. Now the new bed is finished but it's June. Think they will do OK if I move them now, if I keep them watered? I love them and don't want to rootshock them to death. No better plant for growing in sunny maple-rooty soil.
