Can you identify this strange wildflower?

We moved into a 160 year old farmhouse this winter. I have tons of amazing wildflowers sprouting all over. So far no one knows what this is.

It's Fritillaria meleagris which is from Britain. It is often called the snake's head Fritillary.

You have some bloodroot around these plants - the ones with the interestingly lobed leaves. They are a choice native wild flower.

I happen to like Digitalis grandiflora which is a true perennial while many other Digitalis species are not. For example, Digitalis purpurea is biennial. The flower color of Digitalis grandiflora blends with any color. It's a great plant and you will find it in many of the finest gardens.
