Hi all,

I received shoo-fly seeds in the seed exchange and had never heard of this plant. Can anyone give any info, ie is it an annual, perennial, tall, short, pics. It germinated very quickly and I need to know where I should plant this. Also is this invasive?

It's a self-seeding annual, and should be grown in the full sun. It prefers a moist soil, and will probably get to about 2-3 feet tall. It blooms in the summer with pretty blue flowers. Keep it dead-headed if you don't want it all over your garden next year.

The botanical name is Nicandra physalodes, which will make it much easier for you to look up plenty of information.

Took me a while to find the plant but its called Nicandra Physalodes . Peru and is poisonus if eaten but a beautiful looking Plant. Glad to see it grown here. Brenda
