I am glad you have something besides Hemlock in your area. .... I figure it's always worth warning anyone who finds "wild carrots" or "wild parsley" that Hemlock looks just like it and to be very cautious. I about had a heart attack when I realized this plant is a common weed in my neigborhood and on my lot. It's so toxic you aren't even supposed to pull it with your ungloved hands! I just grubbed out more little 6" volunteers of it today and made a mental note to remind my neighbors (with young kids) that they have it growing near their patio again. Anyway- glad you apparently don't have to worry about it.

2 isn't carrot. One of the many umbelliferous plants in the Apiaceae. I don't know what would be normal in your area. Here it would be Anthriscus sylvestris, aka Cow Parsley. Does no 1 have a smell? it looks like Lettuce Leaf Basil. And yes, in future you'd do better to start your own thread.

The spicebush does have a wonderful citrus-like smell. It is a nice, small woodland tree that grows throughout my area (Western NY State). NY and PA have very similar conditions and plants so I too would guess spicebush. If there are not other spicebush in the nearby vicinity, it could have sprouted from a bird-planted seed. The female spicebush gets beautiful red berries - see the picture I took at a near-by state historic site... FataMorgana
