Columbines and BUGS

If there is somewhere more pertinant to post this, please let me know. Please help with any info and suggestions for my below bug problem.

I started gardening last summer. I have several columbines which look very hardy and happy. Today, one bloomed - kind of. The flowers were so weak and weird that I took a closer look. The plants are COVERED in bugs. I assume they are aphids, but don't really know. There are three kinds that I can see. 1 is green and big enough that I can see it's legs. still very small. 2. is white and looks like somebody spilled some laundry detergent on it. 3. little orange bumps. I don't think they have legs.

I'm an organic kind of gal. I just washed them off with soap and water. GACK, I was covered in the bugs. I have offically moved into a new phase as gardener. I don't know if I should be excited or disgusted. Anything else I can do to these plants or just keep washing. I'm all itchy.
