yeah! more fun! more food! more plants! best of all seeing all of the green friends again! I am thanking heaven I am making my garden paths narrower this summer. (the better to squeeze a few more plants in... does this mean I am an addict now? I can just see the 12 step program... 1.take your hands off the shovel.2. take your hands off the watering can.3.take your eyes off the seed catalog.4.stop letting your car drive you to the nursery.5.confess you have a problem. 6.try not to make too many cuttings from your houseplants unless someone wants them.7 make sure you have enough money to buy your own veggies (if not growing one or two wont hurt).8.your lawn looks bad - better water it.. if a few drops land on the garden then that is just bad luck. we all have that. 9.it is a proven fact that flowers make people feel better. growing a couple of daisys is improving your neighbors lives. 10. the daisys worked you got a couple of smiles better put in some daylilies. 11. they stoped blooming better fill in the bare patches with some varigated foliage plants for better colour. 12. take a deep breath and your cured! lol

GARDEN VISIT/PLANT SWAP/POTLUCK Date: Sunday October 4th. Please email me for address. Arrive 10:00 AM (unload plants and food in driveway and park across road on Sedgwick. Walk around garden, socialize, etc. potluck 12 noon Afternoon-plant swap(informal or prearranged trades), visits to nearby public plantings of hardy palms, crape myrtles, etc. TRADING MATERIALS:Labeled plants, cuttings (rooted or unrooted), shrubs, bulbs, seedlings, seeds, garden ornaments,garden magazines, extra gardening implements, or any other garden-related items. POT LUCK: Please bring a lunch dish (with serving utensil) to enjoy and share. Bring a chair if you have one (extra chairs here if needed). Plates, plastic silverware, napkins, cups, and iced tea & water will be provided. This will be an enjoyable day filled with plants, good plant talk, and delicious food. Feel free to bring a friend. Since people will probably want them, I'll bring all Christmas fern (Polystichum acrostichoides) divisions and Spicebush (Lindera benzoin) volunteers that I can. So far I've only seen 2 spicebushes, but I'm hoping I'll come across more. Please let me know about the other plants though, since I may or may not bring enough for you otherwise (Lisa, Ellen, and sugar_magnolia, I'll bring the plants you mentioned for yourselves--creeping phlox , Japanese maples, and evergreen azaleas respectively). You dont need to reply for those unless youre not interested). Dana, let me know what youre interested in. (in case itll make you feel better, if you used to use the name danaNJ, Im still enjoying some of the plants you gave me 2 summers ago! Go ahead though, even if you're not.)
