Flowers/Plants not Blooming

Hello,

I purchased a few different flowers from a local nursery and they had blooms on them when I purchased them. Since transplanting all fo them, they are not blooming (or growing much) at all. Is this typical? Did they go dormant? The ones I purchased are Creeping Phlox, Aster's, and then some ground cover plants: Ajuga, Plumbago and Mazus.

This is my first year doing plants and flowers (normally I just do vegetables and herbs) so I am not sure if I am doing something wrong? Thanks for the help.

Most plants have a limited bloom time. Once they are done for the season, they are done. But if they are perennial, they will bloom again next year. That is why people usually get a mixture of plants so that they can have blooms at different times.

Sometimes flowers get a little cranky after transplanting but they will probably bounce back next season. Watch out for that ajuga, it can be very aggressive. I just looked up the creeping phlox and confirmed that its normal bloom time is coming to an end about now. If you can buy plants just before they bloom you will get more bloom time from them at your place than in the nursery. In any event, with perennials you should be o.k. next bloom season.

its you ... lol .. not really ... there is a term.. for wild flowers .. that make me think of all the spring flowers ... it is SPRING EPHEMERALS ... see link below for definition ... just short lived beauty ... you take what you get... the length of the show dependent on so many things... such as: drought the year before... deep winter freeze.. no winter freeze .. hard spring frost at bud set spring drought or maybe.. they just arent in the mood.. whatever the reason... they will be back next year ... this is why spring plantings are made in waves of bloom time.. in order.. leaving out many ... crocus pushkinia daffs tulips scilla ... etc you plant them so every two weeks .. more are on their way ... i hope you enjoyed them.. most will be back next spring .. ken Here is a link that might be useful: link

Ah, the jungle!! Looks so lush there. Congrats on the justicia- it is beautiful and the white blossom is great contrast to the foliage. Your peach brug looks pink in the photos- does it change color as the weather changes? Very pretty! Karyn, sorry about your woes/disappointments- hope you're not waiting on brugs seedlings to bloom, too!

Be careful ordering from them. Here is my review from another site: I wish I could give this zero stars. Ordered 4 pink double knockout rose bushes (2 gallons) and they were absolutely tiny (with only one or two buds max per bush). The 2 gallon double knockout rose bushes that they are selling at Lowes, Home Depot and our local nursery appear to be about 10 times the size of the bush they sent us (and were about $10 cheaper at each of the stores). Sent customer service pictures of the bushes with measurements and compared next to a 2 gallon bush from Home Depot. Also, Ordered 2 (3-4ft) pink velour crape myrtles and they were absolutely tiny (basically 3 or 4 twigs). The comparable trees that they are selling at Lowes and our local nursery appear to be about twice the thickness of the tree they sent us (and were about $30 cheaper at each of the stores). Extremely disappointed with Brighterblooms, as this was after spending $2,500 with them this spring. Save your money and go to your local store. See my reviews on other review sites for pictures, as they do not allow you to upload pictures.

I feed my azaleas after they quit blooming until September...........NO MORE then until after they bloom again. I am in North Texas and have no experience in your zone.
