what does "ready to harvest in X days" really mean?
Comments (3)Yes, for items that are normally directed seeded (as are radishes, corn, lettuce, squash, etc.) it is # of days from planting the seeds. For those items that are normally grown from transplant (tomato, pepper, etc.) it is the # of day from transplanting. However it is important to remember that DTM (days to maturity) are just a general guide, an "average", as many variables can affect it. Dave...See Morewhat does side venting really mean?
Comments (15)The LG laundry center has venting available in the rear, the left, and the right. My closet space is tight. After placing the LG there, the closet will have the space of 3 3/8" in rear and 6" on the sides of both right and left available for the dryer duct. If I move the LG towards the left side, I will have 2" space on the left, and 4" space on the right side where I can possible fit the standard 4" dryer duct. Am I right? Do I need any elbow joint? Can I simply install the regular 4" duct on the right, without the LG side vent kit? If I need space between the dryer duct and the LG dryer, can I use a reduced vent size for 3' or 2' duct with the proper connector to the 4" dryer vent? Also, can I place the washing machine pan underneath the LG laundry center to protect the floor and to facilitate the moving of the appliance? Or shall I put a heavy duty felt sliders underneath the LG laundry center or under the washing machine pan for the needs to move the appliance in the future? Lastly, shall I install the dryer duct lint trap to facilitate duct cleaning in the future?...See MoreWhat does 'support and love' on the bride's big day REALLY mean?
Comments (18)Hi dana gardener - I am wondering, what do you want to do? Do you really want to go or do you feel that it is an obligation? Even if it is an obligation it doesn't matter as long as you strongly desire to be there for someone you Love and want to support and share in the person's special day. This is what counts. However, if you cannot afford this trip with all the expenses involved, even if you want to be there, then I would express that in a note to the Bride with a gift that you can afford. No one should feel "forced" to attend when it will be so costly to do so. You may feel bad for not going if you truly desire to share in this Blessed event but you should also feel free and not guilty if you decide not to go because of the financial, emotional, etc. stress that it will cause you. No matter what decision you make it is your right to do so whether you go or not....See MoreWhat does 'Right of First Refusal' really mean?
Comments (68)The breeder is not "pushing" to get the dog back. Clearly the ideal situation is the person who bought the dog is going to provide a loving forever home and provide all the vet care necessary for the dog. The breeder who is interested in preventing people from keeping a dog they can't afford or don't want will want to try again to place the dog in the perfect home. The breeder who doesn't give a crap where the dog ends up and probably won't answer any of your phone calls about returning the dog, even if it is sick or has a major medical problem (seen that a LOT). The breeder who doesn't give a crap sticks the new owner with a dog they don't want or can't take care of. In case you weren't aware, breeding dogs the right way is very expensive, and all the good breeders I know LOSE money on every single puppy they sell. Taking the puppy back means even more of a loss, since they now have to resell it or keep it themselves. Taking care of puppies costs money- I know this isn't a surprise to you. And since the puppy is now older, they can't get as much for the dog- causing even a bigger loss. Breeding dogs is an expensive hobby, and those who do it right care a lot about where their dogs end up. Just ask one of my good breeder clients who took back an 18 month old Cane Corso because the owner called them and said they couldn't afford to keep him any more. They spent over $150 the first day they got him back just making sure he was healthy (he wasn't). Then they fixed him up. They are probably stuck with the dog because nobody wants an 18 month old 150# pound dog (once he gets healthy he'll be that big), and they won't breed him because he isn't a breeding quality dog. So they are going to probably end up caring for the dog for the rest of his life- obviously they lost money on the deal. Now if they were crappy breeders, they would just tell the owner to take him to the shelter or try to sell him themselves. Anyone want an unsocialized 18 month old 150# not yet healthy dog? Right of first refusal doesn't necessarily mean the breeder will take the dog back, either. Obviously, they can just as easily refuse to take it back and leave the puppy in a home where the owners don't want it or can't take care of it....See Moreyama
