HAVE: Perennial Plant Swap in Monmouth County Apr. 25

If you cannot attend the Plant Swap/Potluck on May 3, due to a conflict on your calendar or the distance, please remember the Spring Perennial Plant Swap at Deep Cut Gardens on Saturday, April 25, 10am-2pm.

The horticultural park of the Monmouth County Park System, Deep Cut Gardens is located at 352 Red Hill Rd., Middletown, NJ 07748. (Mapquest and GPS devices show it as being at 202 Red Hill Rd.) About 1.7 miles from Garden State Parkway Exit 114, there are no parking or admission fees.

Bring plants in one-quart, one-gallon or two-gallon containers and take home the same size and number of plants. Perennials only - no annuals or houseplants (houseplants are exchanged at the fall swap). Call the park at 732-671-6050 with any questions.

While there, stroll the trails, visit the horticultural library with 4000+ volumes, greenhouse, rockery, rose parterre, natural and lily ponds (the former with tadpoles, the latter with koi and goldfish), AAS & vegetable garden, home composting demonstration site, bonsai collection and lawns with specimen trees. www.monmouthcountyparks.com or Google "Deep Cut Gardens" for plenty of photos.
