Ideas for plants....

I love playing in the dirt, but I am completely inept with the concept of design. What can I say  IÂm the consummate bachelor. I need help in redoing the landscaping at my house. I moved in last September and what you see is the standard cheap stuff thrown in. The privet and boxwoods have to go. I have not decided about the monkey grass and the hollies that flank the house.

One idea I had was moving the monkey grass from the left bed then surround the holly on the right side of the house. That would leave a clean slate for the larger bed to the left of the house. Another is to enlarge both beds and wrap them around to the sides of the house. Granted, the gas meter is very close to the front of the house on the left, not to mention the lovely HVAC unit. The yard is very small as you can see, so it does limit the options.

In your suggestions, one of the main concepts is to use native plants. At my previous house, I used them and they work so well, that I want to continue with that. Any ideas you have will be appreciated.

Thanks,

Barry
