anyone know anything about blue poppies?
Comments (9)Let's see if I can help alittle. First off the bat I do not currently grow these but intend to next year. I grow perennials for both personal and business reasons. First thing I did was do a search on google for Meconopsis betonicifolia & Meconopsis grandis and gathered all the info I could along with the many reference books I have. There's quite alot of info out there. On this garden web is a forum for Northwest gardeners, that is where I found the most people who grow them (I picked quite a few brains myself to aid in my decision). Try them also. With regards to the soil testing, yes there are kits out there but the really accurate ones cost a bit much. Especially for a beginning gardener. Most people here in the US look in their phone book and get the number for their local county agriculture agent's office. There they have you bring in a few soil samples and for a fee of roughly $15 (US) you get a pretty extensive report. The agent can then advise you on any revisions you might have to make with regards to what you're planting. You probably have a set up that's similar with your government but worded abit different. P.S. Many times I found the web for Devonian Botantical Garden in Alberta very useful (specifically their growing tips). http://www.discoveredmonton.com/devonian/getgro5.html may be of interest to you. Comments (11)Hi Bart! I'm sorry, I've been "otherwise occupied" battling downy mildew. Royal Lavender is NOT a silvery-lavender. It IS sometimes pinkish-mauve, sometimes rather brownish-lavender. It is quite fragrant and there honestly isn't anything else quite like it. It was one of the first "mauvish" climbers and is pretty much a museum piece these days, as are many of the other strangly colored early roses. If water, space and disease pressures weren't issues here, I would grow it again. I wouldn't use it for breeding, which is pretty much what I limit my space use for these days, but I did enjoy the rose. In the mid California desert, it was healthy, but I know it wouldn't be here along the Central California Coast where nights are chilly and wet, followed by warmish, sunny and very windy days. If you just have to try it, go for it. But, if you really want something along the coloring of Blue Moon, Sterling Silver and their like, it won't please you....See MoreAnyone know about diamond rings?
Comments (34)Hi daisy! I’m a jeweler- my family hand makes and designs everything we sell. We do A LOT of custom resets just like yours. A few things: A bezel setting is super secure and very easy to wear, it doesn’t catch! When done properly, I.e. trimmed back, it does not affect the performance of the diamond. A stock setting, like the first you posted, will generally be the most affordable option over a truly custom piece, but it has to be available for the diamonds you have. White flash is a very reputable company that will customize that design for your exact stones, but not every jeweler is capable of customizing a stock setting or doing it particularly well. whether you go with a stock setting or a custom setting, ask for details and look for a company that will be able to show you a CAD rendering or a 3D wax model (or the components of your stock setting) before it’s in metal and set. Too many people come to us because what they received as a finished product wasn’t anything like what they envisioned, but there were no intermediate steps for them to approve along the way. There are literally thousand of designs or ways to set three stones, a good designer will be able to take a collection of photos you bring them and pick out the common elements and themes to design you something you will love and that works for your stones. Resetting the diamonds is such a lovely way to remember family members and enjoy them yourself! If you have any questions about the process or specific metals or anything I’m happy to help!...See MoreDid Anyone Get 5 Roses for $10 each From The Jackson & Perkins Sale?
Comments (9)It's a good deal and as summers mentioned the return policy if great. I'm still waiting for a Rainbow of Roses sale, but I think we may be getting to late for that. I've gotten excellent plants from ARE, ordering when they have free shipping on CyberMonday. They have large roots, but no rose can make up for a poor siting unless it's more suited to shade as a variety. In general, I find my old roses wonderful when planted where they'll do well. When I've put them in poor areas, they've grown backwards, but then so have my modern roses in a similar situation. Congrats on your MD present! Please post pics when you get them....See MoreWendyB 5A/MA
