If you can find the source outside where they are getting in at you can stop it there with poison. They are looking for a place to spend the winter. Is it possible that one plant is rotting. I don't know if they are attacted to that smell. Get the Terro ant traps or even the liquid. You can put the liquid a few drops on piece of cardboard and they take it back and kill and queen. BUT...I have watched them and some stay right there for like 15 minutes and drink it on my patio. Eventually after a few days they were dwindling down. I found the nest in the patio railing cracks and filled it with the Terro foam spray. In a former condo a neighbor had them and they had a 10 lane freeway outside coming up the wall to her unit.

Mark4321 -- You are located right at the doorstep of fig guru Jon of Encanto Farms. You have the best advise, variety choices & probably the best buys. Price should be your least consideration for a variety that would be yummmy, especially for mom. From my experience, it pays big time to have a yummy fig & my wife can never get enough of good figs. So now, even my dinners are better tasting & the flip side is the waistline challenge.

Plant Swap this Sunday May 15th, from 11-3pm at 182 Sunyside Dr. in San Leandro (near the Oakland border). bring the plants, seeds, cuttings, bulbs, etc that you don't want and take the ones that you do. All types and sizes accepted. Please label your plants if you know what they are and include growing instructions. If you plan to spend the day bring a bag lunch and drinks. Children welcome if supervised and must be dog friendly. Be prepared for rough garden paths, lots of fun, getting dirty, and meeting great people. Stan, Actually, it's not something most of us would think to check! One would assume that a fruit plant is meant to be eaten, lol! I only checked the tag because there wasn't a sign for the price- that's when I saw the "not edible" disclaimer. I had to go to HD for a tarp today, so I took three pics. They have so many, but such a shame to buy inedible pineapples. Ironically, I live just a few mins away from the Dole Pineapple Plantation, so these HD plants are definitely a letdown. But, I hear you, it is nice to see the Bay area catching on! You have such a tropical heart; I always see your mango posts!
