Hello- I see that your post wanting Cross Vine has been around for awhile. I am a new member, but wanted to let you know that I currently layering several pieces of Cross Vine in order to root them. Maybe we can work out a swap in the fall??? I hope so. I know what it is like to really want a plant.

There is a chapter on pipsissewa in Planting the Future: Saving Our Medicinal Herbs ed. by Rosemary Gladstar & Pamela Hirsch. The chapter on pipsissewa is written by Stephen Harrod Buhner. The first sentence in the Propagation and Cultivation section for pipsissewa is: "Though the plants produce seeds it is nearly impossible to propagate from them." If a local library has a copy of the book, you may wish to read the rest of the chapter on this plant. FataMorgana

I think it's pipsissewa AKA spotted wintergreen, Chimaphila maculata. It's a native woodland plant, so I am not sure that moving it to more sun will make it happier. I'd at least put back a mulch of pine needles. https://gobotany.newenglandwild.org/species/chimaphila/maculata/
