Evergreen ferns in Twin Cities area

Hi Everyone,

I am kind of new to this forum--what a great discovery!

In May, I left behind my garden 15 years in the making and moved to a new place out in Bayport. We border a State natural area and have lots of big oak trees. I am working toward a design that gradually brings the woods down to my backyard naturally and I love ferns so I am hoping to develop a big patch of them under the trees.

So here is my question: Has anyone had any luck growing evergreen ferns like leatherwood and Christmas in this area?

While I am writing, I will add my wish list, just in case this fall someone will be digging out just what I need. (Don't have much to offer for exchange right now, unless you are into buckthorn but promise to make up for it in the future.)

Little bluestem

Purple coneflower

Black-eyed susans

Stella d' Oro lillies

Ferns (not Ostrich or Cinnamon as I have those)
