Zone 5 part/full shade suggestions?

Hi all!

I am in zone 5, just north of Chicago, and have a nice little area in front of my house that I would like to turn into a Moon Garden. Right now the backbone consists of Annabelle Hydrangea, some variegated Hosta, and a few Ostrich and Ghost Ferns (which we inherited when we bought the place).

The site doesn't get much direct sun, but the above are doing splendidly if that's any indication as to what I should be planting here. Any thoughts for perennials (ok ok, annuals too :) suitable for my zone would be greatly appreciated!

Oh, another question, we had great luck growing Moon Flowers in the sunny bed - do they do as well in shade??

Many thanks! and Happy Autumn! :)

Sandy
