Paul's Glory now a mini

Last year I moved a clump of Paul's Glory because it was in too much sun and was frying to a crisp. I thought I gave it a much better location. This spring it barely came up and when it did it was tiny. It still is, though it has lots of eyes and appears to be healthy. It was a simple move...dig up the clump and set it in a new hole. I have moved lots of my hosta and they hardly take notice. I'm assuming I somehow got it planted too deeply. If so, should I wait to see if it corrects itself? The leaves are no larger than an egg.

Since this picture was taken, the 3 largest leaves yellowed and died. The rest are healthy looking, but the plant is no more than 8 inches across.
Here it is in the spring 2012 before it started to crisp up.
