Anyone Overwintered Confederate Star Jasmine Outside in Zone 6?

I live in Zone 6 and I have two Confederate Jasmine (Star Jasmine) that I brought inside last winter. I wanted to take a chance and go ahead and leave them outdoors this year so I took them out of their pots today and planted them in the ground very close to the foundation of my house.

Has anyone successfully left a Confederate Jasmine outside in Zone 6? Are there any tips that might improve my chances of success? Would a very large rock half buried in the soil next to each of them provide any additional protection from winter weather? What about piling on a thick layer of chopped leaves? Should I prune the tops at all?

Thanks for your help!
