i got a hoophouse through someone advertising on CL and it has worked out very well. the taking apart thing was time consuming and annoying but thats the trade-off for a good price. so would you tell us how much it is? i got a 14x72 for $500. with it i got a piece of landscape fabric the same size as the house and a bunch of pvc pipe that was used for irrigation. it cost me another $600 or so to get it up and running, meaning buying the plastic and wiggle wire and some framing for the end walls and doors. your potential house is a better size than mine.

They are asking $500 for it also. It is 30 by 48. How long did it take to disassemble it? I am trying to figure out how much time to budget for it.

it took a couple of days to take down. it was very difficult pulling up the part of the hoop that goes in the ground. some were buried > 2' deep. yours will probably have more cross bracing than the one i got. that means more wrench work. a cordless drill with hex drivers help. there were a lot of rusted fasteners that connected the baseboard to each hoop.
you are saving a lot of money so be prepared for the trade off.

I am looking at it tomorrow. I know the posts are in concrete and that I will have to cut them off. I will be a lot of wrench work. If I do get it I will borrow my BiL's cordless impact drills and we will get busy!. I am hoping that I can disassemble the ribs in half and haul them home this way. I am going to borrow a 16 or 18 foot flat bed trailer, I figure If I can leave them in 15 foot sections, it would be alot easier. It will just depend how much bend is in them. I am seeing lots of red flagging flying around on the way home.

I went and looked at it and I decided to buy it pretty much on the spot. It is in great shape. All the baseboards are in good condition, the endwalls are in good shape and come with it. The only issue I have is I will have to cut the posts off at the concrete, but I knew that coming into it. I am planning on either buying new ground posts or come up with another way to secure it to the ground. It has been sitting up on a rock base with drainage away. The owner use to raise flowers for sale in the spring.

Now all I have to do is move it. it doesn't look to be too hard of a job. All the posts slip together, but we will see after we start on the first one!

The vent covers don't come with it.

Jay Thanks for your new greenhouse pics. Very timely as I recieved my roll of greenhouse plastic and end frame hardware the very day you posted the pic's. I used your pics to speed my thinking capacity to frame out the small 10' x 30' greenhouse end walls I am constructing. My first shot at it. My farm stand lost 3 10x20 canopy's in the high winds a few weeks ago, quite a twisted mess. So I am building a permanent 10x30 house for starting plants and a little winter growing from what I can salvage. Thanks again, tonytiller
