Elephants Ears (Colocasia) ??

I have 2 bulbs that I kept over from last year. I got them put into my pots late, and they are just now today starting to peak up through the soil.

Here are my questions:

Would it be a good idea to put the pots outside now? Then I would not have to worry about hardening them off.

OR should I wait until it is consistantly warmer outside?

I was thinking about leaving one in the pot (24") and planting one in the ground in the shade garden, is this a good idea?

I have had my potted elephant ear bulbs outside for some time. One is just starting to come up.

One year I planted them in the ground and had a huge bulb that fall.

I think I will put the pot outside tomorrow then. Since I am at least if not 2 behind you. And I do think I will put one of the bulbs in the ground. I think it will look really kewl in the spot I have open.

I used to buy the softball sized ones when I could find them but came to realize the small ones grow very large over the summer anyways. Especially if they are in the pond with the koi fertilizing the water for them!! Now I buy them from the grocery store and have very good luck with them. very cheap compared to the nursery. The only ones I overwinter are the more uncommon ones.
