Head count will determine the location of the swap. Either, Black Hill Regional Park per usual or someone's house if very few people are going. Please let us know if you can come.

(Also, it doesn't have to be the usual no-shade parking lot at Black Hill. There are some other options, with shade but still not too far from a bathroom, that ought to work -- especially since we can now check on line to see if a particular shelter is reserved or not.)

I have a few more items worth listing Ipomoea coccinea or scarlet morning glory. A favorite of hummingbirds and listed as a native on the IFAS publication at the link below. Warning is does reseed readily if seeds not removed. Dies back in summer. New plants pop up in Fall. Also I have several white containers some glazed some not. hello everyone. weather is very intense today/tonight. shirley, sure hope you are not in this storms path. carol, i sent those mold things (kind of like a joke, but they are useful), becase a while back you actually had mold and weren't sure how to test it...remember? not on your feet though, as i recall. happiest of birthdays to beth and tina. beth, are you getting hit with this weather as well? not sure what part of MD you are in. we only have one state separating us...one of these days, it would be nice to meet. wow amy - 5 boys. Hi, everyone. Sorry I haven't been checking in. My husband has a medical issue and I have been submerged in that. I think I mentioned a few weeks ago he had blurred vision and went to both opthalmologist and primary care physicians, who determined it was due to his diabetic condition. Prescriptions were adjusted, and eye drops prescribed. He's been going back for follow ups, and it was decided to schedule some MRI's, just to be safe. A small "enhancement" on is cerebellum showed up. He met with a local neurosurgeon who said he was puzzled as to what it could be. That it could be a tumor, or a cyst, or something he was born with. We sent the scans to my husband's uncle in Florida, who is a retired neurosurgeon, and he too, couldn't tell, due to the non-contrast imaging. He did say he was concerned because the enhancement appeared round, which is how tumors show up (even though the two local doctors said they didn't think it was a tumor.) It was decided that he see a neurosurgeon at Tulane Medical Center in New Orleans, which is better equipped to handle this sort of thing, so we see a doctor there on Tuesday. I would appreciate prayers that this is nothing serious and/or that the neurosurgeon can easily take care of whatever it is. I am one of those who instead of losing their appetite, will eat the house if possible, when I get stressed, so I've got to get a grip on the situation. I hope I have good/promising news to report next week. Hugs to all who need them, I could use one about now.

Great! Well, Alfie, why don't we do a shady parking lot rather than the usual blistering one. :-) BHRP it is. I will get the Haves, Wants, and Food up as soon as I can. Hopefully tonight! We have precious little time to arrange our swaps. :-)

I'll take a look at the park map and the shelter schedule and pick out a good spot with shade and bathroom access.

The swap will be on Sunday, September 27, starting at 10:00 am (or so) at the south end of parking lot #3 (associated with shelters D, E, and F) at Black Hill Regional Park near Germantown, Maryland. Bathrooms are across the street at the visitors' center. There is an extremely nice playground nearby (not in sight of the parking lot), and there is an off-leash dog park a little further away. There should be at least some shade in the parking lot, and there are picnic tables and a grill, up a trail, that will definitely be shady.
