Comments (3)FATHERS?!?! I had one, I am one. My son(17) gives me that "I do not believe it" look a lot. When it comes to thing with many keys, buttons & blinking lights he is right. IMO,All sweet peppers are green(unripe/ immature) until they ripen, then they are red(the only kind for many years)yellow, orange or purple. IMO, you are right, but I eat them all & they are great. By the way cucumber are eaten immature in my house( before they turn yellow)....See MorePeppers, peppers and yes!....more peppers

Comments (50)I am a TOTAL chili head! My father got me hooked as a child and now that I am hooked he doesn't like the heat like he used to!! LOL! I am DREAMING of doing my own "Tabasco" style sauce but with 50% Chili and 50% Garlic! WE NEED A RECIPE FORUM HERE!!!!!! I am also a TOTAL garlic head! When I cook I use about a WHOLE BULB per MEAL! I even swallow pieces of Garlic like pills when I'm sick because I heard it helps with non-viral infections/colds. (Don't swallow small hole cloves...learned that the hard way...they don't digest - one SCARY morning!!!) I make one mean Chili Re-a-n-os (I can't spell it) so I am trying to grow plablanos. I drive from Chicago to Arizona for the holidays and sometimes take the long road through Hatch New Mexico and pick up a few bags of freshly dried chilies. That is where I get the seeds for a lot of my plants! I get the bonus of eating AND growing! You can take the seeds from the jars of Chili Flakes that you buy at the store and grow from those too! I am so glad I checked out this site! I am now hooked! Laters!...See MorePeppers Thrive Now, Why?
Comments (13)I live on the southern tip of NJ. We have had a very wet summer here , it is also the coolest summer Ive ever seen here. Up north of us you get 2 times the rain we get here so it has not been the ideal summer for growing anything. In the last 2 weeks summer finally hit us, The other day it hit 90 for the first time and my peppers are loving it. I'm still getting a bumper crop but am dealing with more black inside my peppers then any year I can remember,Still plenty of good ones but if I had as much rain as you I dont think things would be the same. Now that the weather has changed we NJ folk should be seeing some good fruit set for the next couple of weeks until the night temps. drop into the 50s at night,Plus plenty of plant growth as the conditions have improved recently. Its been an interesting year and a lot of farmers to the north have had flooded fields as well as hail damage to there crops. It is what it is....See Morecole_robbie
