I don't have a pic, but I do have hosta planted with White Nancy. I tend to think the darker greens/blues look best. The white variegation gets lost against the lamium.

Give some thought to a variety called Anne Greenaway. It really looks great with almost all varieties of hosta:

Here is halcyon and sagae with Hermans pride lamium in deep shade.

Lamiastrum 'Herman's Pride' with montana 'Macrophylla.'

They look nice when planted with larger hostas. When interplanting with small hostas, especially my red lamium will run over them. When planting with medium hostas they will let the hosta leaves show barely and push vertically through the hosta leaf canopy, that is when the lamium is well established.

I personally like hostas with mulch only. Some of the Lamiums, not Herman's Pride, run and seed wildly and become a weed, in my garden.

I have planted Lamium on an east facing retaining wall. Red Nancy. I have Silver Beacon in full sun in my yard, it is a STUNNER. Both areas are contained, but the plant does pop up in other areas of my yard. I'm hoping Red Nancy will fill in as a nice ground cover as my Silver Beacon has, and eventually spill over the wall. I had wondered if it would take over hostas, but these pics are inspiring.

Melissa, I do like Anne Greenway. I planted a similar 'Golden Anniversary' this year, I thought I'd try and see how it does. So far, so good. Soft pink flowers.

I was lurking awhile back and saw a gorgeous pic of someone's Hostas interplanted with Lamium, I liked it so much I bought three different Lamiums. I hope mine look half as good as these photos do someday. I hate bare dirt. :)

Will have to try it as I have 3 kinds given to me but didn't know the names. In this posting I found out one is Herman's Pride.

Another is mostly white leaves with white flowers and another is green leaves with white in middle with pinkish lavender flowers. If someone can give me their names I would be greatful. Thanks

Great pictures! It's nice to see the lamium with hostas... I just ordered some purple dragon and silver beacon myself.
