Voles and Hosta

I have voles that have been eating their way through my garden this year - eating all the oriential lilies and now, I was looking at my hosta and noticed that some of the leaves were coming out of the plant and upon further inspection, the plant can be rolled up like a carpet because the voles ate the underneath of the plant. It still have some roots, but some sections were gnawed. The hosta was huge. My plan is to leave it in the ground and hope that it resets roots. Has anyone else had a problem like this and do you think that the hosta will reroot? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks
