Bambi,please dont let the bad ones ruin it for you! I felt this way because of one person,one that owes you hibiscus did it to me too,anyway,so many good trades have happened since then and I am glad I didnt give up! She actually had me nervous about trading,wondering if I was going to ever get someone elses end again! I decided not to let this person ruin it for me,and I am so glad I didnt! When it comes down to it the good does out weigh the bad,I am more selective about who I trade with since the incident with the "Taker",and check the rate and review for people I havent traded with before.I have just recently traded with a bunch of newbies that are fantastic and have a great future in trading and will be good traders.I took a chance on them, being they are brand new and have no feedback,but they all came through wonderfully and restored my faith! Please dont ditch us just yet,I dont see why you should miss out on all the good trading that does take place here, because of people that should be the ones to go! Take their names to the Rate and Review thread,report your experience with these people,than the rest of us can make the decision not to trade with them and before long they will not be a problem anymore!If we dont know who these people are,and your experience has not been reported,than they get to run freely through the boards doing this stuff time and time again.Reporting it here is wonderful,but not everyone will look at this thread to read what you had to say,but at the rate and review they will.Remeber GW isnt the only place these people trade,so why punish your self,when it can happen elsewhere,too? w/o a botanical latin name.. its hard to look it up for you ... perhaps your blue version is sterile .... as the breeders move from the plain old color [red???] .. to the more exotic.. it is very common for the end effect to be that the plant is sterile .... that is presuming that your z9 trumpet vine.. is the same plant i know as trumpet vine.. here in z5 MI ... common names can be very problematic ... if you dont have the name.. a pic might get you an ID ... ken Here is a link that might be useful: how to post pix

I want it too. I know where it is growing on a fence by a parking lot and I took cuttings but they didn't make it. I need to try again this fall when it is a little cooler. If I can get them going, will be glad to send one to you. We have the wild trumpet vines all over the place and they are in various shades of orange to red. I can send you one of them...not sure about what shade it will be. I also have pink trumpet vine, which may or may not be related to the regular ones. The leaves and roots look the same, but it may be tropical. The only problem with mine is it is growing all over my old greenhouse and has mixed in with the wild ones, so I am not sure when I dig it whether I am getting a pink one or a wild one. They climb the telephone poles here and the pine trees. I think they look very pretty, but McMann is right...they can be very invasive. Here's the pink one. It smells faintly of strawberries.
