Farm Stand-Expense,Profit

What are you doing to increase farmstand profit and decrease expenses? My hired labor expense last year was $3,487.00. Very good employee, but I feel I cannot justify expense without increasing sales volume, which was $23,700.00. This year I will try it alone with assistance from my grand daughter(13yrs.). I grow 2.5 acres and have another 2.5 acres to expand in. I purchase 60% of my produce from amish produce auctions, select grade. I grow all the cut flowers I sell. To expand my growing capabilities I need equipment and drip irragation with water tanks(hand watering now). It is not cheaper to grow all of my own produce and still keep my customers satisfied with a wide selection of produce. I believe I can increase my volume of sales but main profit will need to come from cutting expenses. tonytiller-klemmsvegetablekart.
