Hi Everyone: There are lots of new people on here. Everyone's gardens look so nice. This is the best year yet for mine. Last year the drought took a terrible toll and they all looked terrible. So, I'm very happy with the way they look this year.

Scully, I've really enjoyed looking at your pics, even winter, altho it's not my fav season either. Your snow is prettier than our bare earth and tan grass! We have almost a complete melt-down here which is most unusual altho it's too early to do anything which is frustrating. I love the 4th pic how you've landscaped the hill, I'm sure it's very charming with the fairies, but looks great even without. The vines make your garden shed even cuter. And *that deer* - ahem, yes I know first-hand what they do to gardens altho I love watching them and trying to figure out relationships. We have two Mama's who may be sisters from 2 years ago (they look like young mothers) and they have 3 babies (2009 fawns) between them. It's always been the 5 together last fall and this winter. I do wonder what's happened to all the older ones tho. I know from having farm animals that these animals know who they are related to and 'hang' together. Your fountain and statue are lovely additions to your garden and the fountain was a great price! Thanks for the visit to your garden in all seasons.

I wasn't going to mention any names......lol! Oh well, my boys have entered their garden into the kids competition, so I thought I may as well throw my hat into the ring as well. Well, here's a few pics from my yard. The Mock Orange has been smelling heavenly the last week or so, and I like the combo with the delphiniums. The Goat's Beard has been doing a fine job at camouflaging the unfinished deck.:) And here's my latest project, which just has a few holes here and there to fill in yet. Here's some closer shots of the island semp beds I made. (In the top left had corner of this first picture, you can see a scape on one of my daylily seedlings from last year!) It's amazing how little room you need for those semps.....I could easily fit in a couple dozen more.;0)

Boo, I grew Cherokee Trail of Tears a couple years ago. They did stay pretty short through most of July, and then they took off like Rockets! I got a nice crop out of them. I've been getting rain, but thankfully not too much. I'm lucky with the weather most of the time. Sometimes the patterns go haywire though, and I get bizarre/bad weather. I live in the lane between the two lake patterns. Often times you can be at my house and see the line of clouds to the north and south, and have it clear here. So unless a storm or cloud cover is massive, I miss the brunt of it. Of course when it is a really dry summer, I'm talking to the cloud begging them to move over this way! Remy

Paul, They are beauties! Here are some from the past two weeks when my southwest hosta bed was in full bloom. I think that they look pretty good considering early emergence, late frost, hail (twice), and lots of bugs this summer. Gold Regal in bloom. L to R: Carnival, Jester, Golden Tiara, Emerald Tiara, Janet, another Golden Tiara, and Shade Fanfare. Turning the corner, same bed from another angle, with Shade Fanfare at center, and in the background (right) a big ventricosa, a fotunei Hyacinthina, and a couple of August Moons. Emerald Tiara in bloom Montana Macrophylla bloom. Golden Tiara blooms. Blue Cadet blooming. Jester blooms. The cardinal is keeping watch over this baby hosta bed with First Frost, Liberty, Deja Blu, and Captain Kirk peeking from behind the impatiens.

WOW ! I swear when I looked at the first few pictures I could literally smell that cool plant and earth smell you get on the morning coffee walk in the garden.

Your climbing roses bring a nice vertical element to the garden, and the blossom colors are gorgeous. Hope you enjoy the active irrepressible mix of hosta fans you find holding down the fort waiting for the irregulars to return......good to have you back again. I'm new to this forum, just my 2nd year like most of my hosta.

Thank you everyone. Gesila: The flowers are heirloom climbing roses. I'm sorry I couldn't tell you their names. They were given to me by a friend. They are very easy care. I don't really do anything to the, but trim every year. I have several of the same ones on our property. They are very prolific. And, yes, Linda that is a Liberty. It is the fourth one down on the right of the path in the first picture.
