??? I got a shoot from top of black-eye peas

We put some b.e.p. in for first time this year. They

came up and are doing well. Without knowing what to expect, we watched them go from seed into plants that have

a bushy form. Kinda like a thick pepper plant. All plants

are producing peas varying from new pods to ones we've already eaten. They seem to be on the same maturity page as far as growth is considered.

The puzzle here is, one plant out of a 30' row is sending

a "feeler" up about 18" above the main plant. It reminds me of a squash vine we're used to seeing as it reaches for a grip on something.

Why just the one? Is this something we should take seed

from because it shows a climbing trait?? I don't have the

seed packet to tell what variety it is. Hopefully our

mystery can be solved without the strain name.

Thanks
