I have a few more to dig. I give them to those eager to get them at work. These days if one doesn't do well, I give it two years. Three only if it is one that I see does really well for others and I want it. That's it. I may move a select few, but usually not. Yes, if I count, I have to figure out where they are going. The ones from Ridnaught are no problem they are "beefing" up one and replacing one that didn't do well. (ie it died) The others have to be planted. I have a couple of yellow ones and a couple of red ones since I needed those colors. But we won't go there. I have a place for Coronation Day, one for Possession of Obsession, and One for another one in front. I'm gradually placing them, but I don't seem to stop buying them. Several of them are going in the new rose garden. Ah Well. kay

Hi Carolyn, I doubt daylilies will ever be popular with florists because of the one day bloom period. But they do work well in personal arrangements, especially for 2 to 3 days, when they can be cut and arranged immediately. I prefer slender scapes with 5 to 10 buds. As the buds bloom, the flowers pale and shrink in size, so I only count on around three days before discarding the arrangement. I can imagine a big massive scape, maybe 36" high with 7" blooms would be very striking, but kind of a waste if it only bloomed well for three days. Very few daylilies are fragrant, but I have never smelled any that were over powering. All had nice delicate fragrances. One of the Kirchhoff double 'Truffles' is the most fragrant I have ever observed. Ed

My deepest sympathy to all that have lost your fur babies; It took me 20 yrs before I could bring myself to get another dog after losing my last dog. I had her for 20 yrs. She was just a mixed breed that adopted me. Showed up on my door step and I started feeding her and she became family. Now the deer .........I wish I could shoot in my neighborhood. I have heards and they love my gardens because I love the plants they love to eat......Hostas and Daylilies. There is a orchard on my property so when they are done eating their veggies they go and eat the fruit for desert. I picked up some of those electric fence poles and going to try those this year. I hunted for years to find a house I could plant and never run out of space. Found what I thought was my dream property of 4 acres and I have been plant restricted because of deer, groundhog, rabbits, squirrels, racoon, even a skunk last year. It seems like I cannot win.

I know I took better pictures than this one Enduring Freedom always does well, occasionally it splotches but not often since I moved it Coach's Magic Man has increased well in its 2nd season, bloomed and rebloomed both years I have had it. This will b e nice when it becomes a nice clump Filled to Overflowing almost died a couple of years ago, went down to 1 fan, but is a nice clump this year and bloomed over 6 weeks Westbourne Chip off the Old Block is as great as Kay promised, bloomed for almost 2 months with rebloom Green Rainbow Kierabel is a lighter purple with deeper purple in it, so I may have it in the wrong category. It is a great plant though, has multiplied really well and bloomed great Westbourne REvivals does well Make it Snappy did great this year
