I've had it with cut worms and suggestion

In all my 35 years of gardening I have never had such a problem with those little #%^@* than this year. Slugs are no problem because I spray almost daily but these aren't bothered by the ammonia. I have to find their damage then their poop (yes poop) then I can find them. Mostly in the petioles of the hostas. Some are over 1 inch fat and sassy but then I step on them and they are no longer fat! lol I know of two other forum members who's having the same problem. I am close to resorting to Seven but does anyone have a suggestion and do you have a problem with them on your hostas?
