how much do I need?

I am contemplating building a greenhouse. I want to use it year-round and have figured I'd need a HPS light to supplement the sun in winter when most days are dark and cloudy. I could probably get away with a few hours in AM and a few in PM and during the noonish hours depend on natural light.

Anyway, if I have a 10' high GH, that measures 16' X 10', how much would I need to add approx 1000 foot-candles to the lowest parts of the greenhouse? According to my calculations, inside the house on a cloudy January day would only read about 700 Foot-candles so I figure for citrus and subtropicals I'd need to kick it up to 1500 or more.
