I did go on the website for the tote but in order for it to come to my home I would have to pay 24.00, at least that is how I understood it. I love it though. I did contact Dee's and she said she will email me a few hats and hold them for me and when I go down on Thurs morning I can try a few on to see what looks best and it will only take 30 minutes to decorate it. I want a white hat and she said she was unpacking some boxes and will email me a few to see which ones she should hold. So I will be just as surprised as everyone else on Derby day. Our horse (philly) Funny Feeling might be running at the Oaks not the main race, just one of the races, we're still not sure, I did buy a white linen dress with multicolored pink sandals (Mona you would love them) they will put aside a pink hat for me also. I will get the pink jewelry for accessories. Well to let you know about Mission Impazible. He is working out at Churchill and is "wowing" some commentators. The only thing is he works out every sat or sun and it is supposed to rain there this weekend and the trainers are not too happy about running in the mud, dont want to break or injure their legs. And Mona everyone is right you are such a great help, I feel like you are a friend and I dont even know you!

I must say all of you make me very emotional. I feel like you are all my friends, how very nice of you to give me all these compliments but if it werent for all of you, I would have bought an inappropriate dress. Let me explain a little. First we got to the derby at noon, it was cold, damp and rainy, but I felt good about our horse, my hat and outfit so I just said I was going to make the best of it. My husband was a little crabby guess it was nerves, most of the men were stressed. We were going up the elevator and as I said this sweet girl wanted to take my picture but my husband was kind of rushing me said the lady was trying to sell me something. I just ignored him. When we finally came home he went on the site and found me, I hadnt had time to view it because my kids were over and we just put our 3 yr old granddaughter to bed it was her birthday today. I'm so happy I was able to have this experience and wanted to share the excitment with anyone who wanted to be a part of it. I havent had time to download the pictures but I cant wait to show you the picture of Pete and I holding a trophy. That was truly amazing. Cant imagine if MI won the derby. He isnt hurt there is a picture in the Kentucky newpaper that shows him about 4th around the first turn and Rajiv was turning looking behind him, could have been that time he should have been looking forward. No excuses, we must move on, the best horse won. We are not sure if he will be entered into the Preakness, I'll let you know. Meanwhile hopefully I can download the pictures. The hat was beautiful! I got compliments all day long, even men came up to me, it was comfortable and different and didnt see one like it, although I must say there were many many beautiful hats, especially where I was sitting. One of the partner's wives bought one for 750.00. It was a silk overlay and fitted perfectly for her head. I was just as happy with mine, bought it for 200. Hay, oats and water are just not enough. I didn't race mine but they got edible vitamins, occasional flowers and leaves, once in a great while a chunk of sugar or candy, fruits and veggies along with the hay oats and water. Horses need good balanced diets just as much as humans. I don't believe they need cortisone injections or steroids and all that stuff to race. Even the vitamin supplements injected can be most dangerous to horses. Look at the awful circumstances of the Polo Ponies in W Palm a few weeks back. A mistake in the mixing of the supplement and 21 dead horses. Yes it was scary there in the beginning went Dunkirk went down to his knees out the gate but what a race he ran and no injuries else where in the field. Why were so many people offended by the thought of the Sheik's horses winning? Because he is oil rich? Because they are from Dubai? The Sheik had 2 beautiful qualified horses in the race. If either had won it was the horse combined with the training and the jockey. NOT the Sheik's money. Proof it is the horse, training and jockey is in the winner. It was very satisfying to see a long shot like Mine That Bird come in the money. That knocked the pins out from under a few of the more pompou$ owner$ and attendee$. LOL CT.

Very different too. 24 pumpernickel party rye bread slices 3 tablespoons butter or margarine 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour 1 cup milk 1 1/2 cups (4 ounces) shredded sharp Cheddar cheese 1 1/2 cups diced cooked turkey 1/4 teaspoon salt 1/4 teaspoon ground red pepper 1/2 cup freshly grated Parmesan cheese 6 bacon slices, cooked, crumbled, and divided 5 plum tomatoes, thinly sliced Arrange bread slices on a lightly greased baking sheet. Broil 6 inches from heat for 3 to 4 minutes. Melt butter in a saucepan over low heat; add flour, and cook, whisking constantly, until smooth. Gradually whisk in milk; cook over medium heat, whisking constantly, until mixture is thickened and bubbly. Add Cheddar cheese, whisking until cheese melts. Stir in diced turkey, salt, and ground red pepper. Top bread evenly with warm cheese-turkey mixture. Sprinkle evenly with Parmesan cheese and half of bacon. Bake at 500° for 2 minutes or until Parmesan is melted. Top with tomato slices, and sprinkle evenly with remaining bacon. To make ahead: Prepare the cheese-turkey mixture, cook the bacon, and grate the Parmesan the day before the party. To reheat cheese mixture, place pan over low heat, stirring constantly, until smooth and warm. Assemble and proceed as directed. Yield: Makes 2 dozen I've made them with beef before and they were good. But, the turkey is much better.
