Do all hosta varieties have a second flush of growth?

I have read a few times on this forum about hosta having a second flush of growth and some suggested an application of osmocote to encourage this. Is this always true?

My tiny, mostly one and two-eye purchases from last fall are doing just fine, but I admit it... they are just so small in relation to the ones I moved from the backyard, that I am in a hurry to see a little more size!

I just want to be sure to provide the best growing conditions I can for the darling "little ones" LOL. I am not usually so impatient, but seeing all the photos of mature specimens makes it SO HARD to wait!!!

Last fall I planted Sagae, Paul's Glory, Patriot, Abiqua Moonbeam, Abiqua Drinking Gourd, Fragrant Blue, Pizazz, Christmas Tree, Dream Queen, First Frost, Tokudama, Guacamole and Krossa Regal in a 15'x25' bed around a 16 year old Pin Oak tree.

Besides giving the best soil I could manage and keeping everything watered - have I done all I can?

Thanks!
