More pictures of Convention

Again this year, IÂve posted a lot of photos of the AIS Convention in Portland, on the Region 14 web site, www.aisregion14.org . Each page link is generally limited to 10 photos, so I hope it wonÂt be too slow on anyone using a modem. ThereÂs lots of photos of iris closeup, gardens, and people, so I hope you enjoy. TheyÂre not only tall bearded, thereÂs lots of photos of Siberians, and species crosses. Oh, two gardens from the Siberian/Species Convention, Tom and Ellen Abrego, and Lorena ReidÂs are there too.

Anyone who has a terrific iris related photo who would like to enter the AIS Photo contest, please see the contest rules on our website as well. Winners in all categories will be winning a new intro coming from the hybridizers in Region 13, from the convention.

Hi floota! You are so ahead of me with convention pics! Gosh, I haven't even begun to sort through mine....given that I have even more than last year and I just got that last garden done right before this year's convention,....I suppose there is no hope for me...lol!! I got zero pics at Stamiles on Sat due to all the rain, but did get my share on Sunday! Enjoyed your pictures very much...now, to find the other parts!

It is entirely possible! Thanks for the heads up on this. Looking at the pics on Dan's website, I will go back and rename that picture as ISLE OF SKYE. Although I routinely take a picture of cultivar/ nametag/ cultivar/ nametag and try to be accurate, sometimes the labels are hard to read or placed where you are not sure which cultivar the label goes with. Three of the gardens had really difficult to read / find nametags ( IMHO) and we ran into this problem when trying to ID a few pics for the next Journal.

I like Blueberry Frost and Stormy Monday the best. I got Trahlyla last year and am seeing my first blooms now, it's going to have to grow on me I'm afraid. There are so many daylilies out there I have never seen. That's why I love to see other people pictures. Thanks for sharing. Judy

AHHHHH. Candy Kisses looks to be a relative of Candy Dish. Those lovely rippled edged and the solid green. It will grow up to be a knockout. I got my Candy Dish from Bob and Nancy. It was love at first sight. I'll have to look up Delona's Smile, but if it is Bob Solberg's hosta, Delona must be one of his children (or is he old enough to have kids turning the Solbergs into grandparents?) Names always have interested me. :)

Enjoyed the trip through the site. Beautiful iris photos. I have been to the Rosten's Garden of Dreams to see the hostas but not the iris--they were just starting them when I was there. Thanks--
