Need help: What is this weed and how do I get rid of it?
Comments (3)It's some sort of grass. The exact type doesn't really matter. The Bermuda looks completely dormant in that picture. If so, the easiest way to kill the weeds would be to use glyphosate (brand name roundup). Glyphosate will only work on plants that are green. It's a nonselective weed killer, so it will kill anything green that it ends up on, but if the Bermuda is dormant, it won't take the glyphosate in and kill it....See MoreGetting rid of wasps in pond
Comments (1)Put out some bird feeders and try to attract some of the smaller birds. They will only get 25% or less of their diet from the feeders and they like to eat wasps and many other bugs. Not a perfect solution, but will surely help out and keep them on their toes....See MoreHow does one humanely get rid of the these, please?
Comments (13)I have chickens. When I pick bugs, the gals (and a few guys) thank me profusely when I toss those sorts of goodies to them. Trust me......even a tiny insectivorous bird can deal with a hornworm. I was watching out my kitchen window when I saw a catbird tearing into something large under the aristolochia trellis. It dawned on me that a hummer had nested in there and I was watching the catbird tearing off wings. I shot out the door to stop the carnage and scared the bird away and looked down at a body without upper appendages..........sort of like a tiny Venus di Milo, laying on its back kicking. The presence of six legs reassured me it was just a very large cicada. I walked away and the catbird came back and finished dismembering it....See MoreNeed to know what this pest is and how to get rid of it???
