Oh, you are all such kind enablers and I thank you so much for your nice comments! I do love making totems, not really sure why. I've done a lot of other crafts but like this one A LOT! LOL My current "reason" I can have more totems is because we are in the process of enlarging the garden! Some might call that rationalization but I won't go there. Karen, that crystal horse is one of a pair I bot for $5 for both. I found the same ones online for $50 each. Almost hated to use it in a totem, but your know how it it with a pretty piece of glass. I'll offer that one for sale, there are lots of "horsey" people around here so it should sell. Marlene, it's reassuring to know I'm not alone in this fun hobby even if we are all "crazy". Looking forward to seeing your new creations. With the new garden I'll have almost unlimited room for garden junk. Scary thot isn't it! Vickie, yes, I have lots of spots of dirt for sure and really don't see this hobby ending. Susie, I may sometime in the future have more totems than plants! R. multiflora makes an excellent rootstock for many areas (mine, for one). Yes, you can graft more than one variety (color doesn't matter) to the same rootstock. Weeks Roses does this with standards (tree) roses, they have a Julia Child and Edd Tide and Iceberg & Brilliant Pink Iceberg, and they used to have a Moonstone/Olympiad combo.

Renofan - You did a fantastic job on that chair, and I think you should go ahead and do the little chair in the yellow toile, too. That's the fabric that I used to make my bedroom duvet and curtains, (the thread is "I've got the blues...thanks to you"). You'll find that this fabric is very reasonably priced, yet a good, sturdy fabric to work with. I also used the yellow duck ticking fabric from the same site, FashionFabricsClub.com. Wouldn't you know I have 4 wingback chairs that are in excellent condition, but all have old fabric on them that I can't stand. Two of them, in fact, resemble what your wingback looked like before. Thanks to you, and the website that you furnished on upholstering, I now know what project I plan to tackle next! I know I'll never match your speed or expertise in these projects, but at least I can make an attempt. Your motivation inspires me to get my butt off this chair and start searching for more fabric. Now I can't wait to see your little toile chair, and if you ever need to find a home for it once it's done, I have a bedroom that would love to adopt it....lol! Beautiful job!! Heidi

Those are both pretty, but until you pick your counter you won't know which way you want to go. Since you haven't picked your countertop yet maybe you could take the BS samples countertop shopping with you. It will become evident immediately that shopping for both at the same time will be an advantage. You'll end up with a look you like, and they'll work together. Each backsplash alternative will limit your counter choices, just as a counter already installed limits some BS choices. Chosen together you get to make the decisions which is more important in the combo.
