Do slugs have any natural predators?

It seems to be that birds might eat slugs, but I've never seen a bird eat one. In my neighborhood, the big, fat doves and robins are very tame and will not fly away when a person approaches. They will work for 30 minutes trying to get a worm out of the ground, while a dozen slugs just sit there waiting to be eaten. So I'm wondering, what eats them, or are the just too nasty to eat?
