Will limelight hydrangea leaves grow back?
Comments (7)I had one such plant but with no green leaves left last year. As soon as the summer temperatures moderated in the Fall, I saw two green leaves around early Oct. The plant went dormant a month later or so. This year, it recovered and had more leaves. If you were to live in a location where your growing season is shorter, the hydrangea may not have time to produce new leaves now but might do it in Spring 2013 so maintain the soil as evenly moist as you can and keep it well mulched. Once the plant goes dormant, you can reduce watering to once a week or once every two weeks, as long as your winter is dry and the soil has not frozen....See MoreAwkward growing limelight
Comments (3)Looks like a young plant that is growing towards the sun. You might have it too close to the house (the back is not going to get any sun as it ages). I have a similar problem with my 3 year old Limelight since the backside is shaded from my neighbor's trees....See MoreBhut Jolokia best growing conditions?
Comments (155)This thread has come a long way ; The year was 2008. Bruce (esox07) and edymnion are two of the three familiar names to me. I, myself, was not then growing anything with more heat than Habanero. The topic ( Bhut best growing conditions ) has covered just about any issue about growing chili peppers, from seeds source, germination, growing under lights, potting soil,.. ..you name it. Bhut Jolokia is on my grow list in the future. Most people who have grown it , have described it as one of the tastiest super hots. Good reading stuff here. Comments (20)You will not get good bloom without good foliage. Just no way. Good culture, more or less balanced fertilizer and patience. You want to speed it up - put plants on wicks and put them under fluorescent or LED light. You will get blossoms earlier... and you will get them 10 months a year. Growers do not rotate fertilizer to change from high nitrogen to high phosphorus to high potassium. Something that is close to 10:10:10 or 20:20:20... Optimara proprietary fertilizer is 14:12:14. Any good fertilizer besides macroelements - NPK - carries microelements and trace elements - magnesium, sulfur, iron.. etc. They are also needed but in very small amounts. Not all fertilizers have all necessary microelements - so switching between them exposes the plants to their multitude. But.. this is really secondary. Good soil and proper pH of the soil and water we use - lets plants absorb the micronutrients - or not - or makes them overabsorb some and underabsorb others... TLC is good - but do not overdo it ;-)) I,...See Moregardengal48 (PNW Z8/9)
