Maybe this will work.

A link to a slide show of my shots since the middle of May. I pasted it and it did bring it up for me. I hope it works for you.

It worked! Oh, fantastic pictures, Jonny! You have a great eye. I envy you folks who enjoy lots of rain. Everything looks so cool and damp, which in turn = fat and happy Hostas.

What was that Hosta about the 3rd picture in with the thin, white centers? Really pretty one. And was that other white-centered one round leaves Dream Queen?

The third picture is a Night Before Christmas and I think you are referring to my Dream Queen. There is an overhead and a side shot as well as a shot up at my twin pines which will verify if it is the one you are referring to.

That is a great PP Presentation. Everyone should save it on their computer. The range for RRD may be a bit outdated, but the info is good, especially the pictures of herbicide drift damage.

I didn't take notes, as I don't intend to spray, but there is only one that can be used by home consumers. Which can create a problem if everyone sprays it indiscriminately and allows pests to develop a resistance. One of the reasons for the detection kit is to enable more accurate usage of pesticides against the mites that spread RRD. The other interesting thing is that there are areas down South that seem to be free of mites, according to surveys by his students. A slide notes an infection rate of 2 to 4% yearly at a large public garden, with the only control being vigilant monitoring and prompt removal of infected roses. Not only is this on par with the number of roses typically added to gardens each year, but this seems no worse than what some Northern gardens lose to winter kill each year.

Need help in creating a custom slide show

Update - I needed to create another slide show earlier this month. Again, I wanted something simple to create, because it's for a one-time presentation with over a hundred slides. I discovered that the slideshow option on the Win10 OS works fairly well and has one big advantage: if my folder has both images and videos, it will show both, in the proper order. There are few user-changeable options, including displaying filenames, but it works. Simply put all the slides and videos in one folder, open the first one, right-click on it, and select slideshow. The only problem was that Win10 is on my desktop computer, so I just carried it to the restaurant where the presentation was being held. I would still like to find a program which would automate the entire process. My ideal problem would be for me to create a file which has a list of all the files. I would load Command Prompt, go to the folder which has all the files, and type "dir/b > filelist.csv". This will create a comma separated file which lists all the files, one per line. I would add additional information to each line, such as a title and perhaps a time interval. I could do this all in Excel. But I need a program which would use this file to read each of the images (one at a time) and display the image with the title for the time selected. I don't know of any program which would do this. ???

Yes, that's the one! Love that twin pine photo, too. Makes me dizzy to look at it but that's a natural state for me so no biggie.

I really enjoyed your slide show. You have some beautiful hosta and some very artistic photos. I really like the one of focused on the branch of conifer with the blurred background. Your Striptease is huge. Dream Queen is gorgeous.

Oh my, thanks for posting this. So many favorites - the drops shots for sure. Blue Mammoth (?) with red Japanese maple. Shot pointing skyward through 2 evergreens. Is that Nelly Moser?

But my favorite shot was of the spindly seedling tree with no leaves yet. THAT'S the kind of picture that a gardener likes. Because for sure what you were seeing when you took the picture is what you hope it will be someday.

HH,

I thought that Cedrus Atlantica was a goner to deer rub (I lost another one), but it pulled through as did many rhododendrons that were defoliated by deer. A happy surprise that they came back. Striptease and Dream Queen, definitely two favorites of mine.

Sad to say that the tree was a victim of the deer hordes last winter. It was not a survivor.
