Tagging Crosses

I tried my first crosses last year, and I'm preparing to realy get my hybridizing efforts into swing this year.

Naturally, I've got some questions. In particular how do you track your work?

I made a half-hearted attempt last year writing down each cross, and cutting individual tags from full size garden markers for each blossom I used. I then tied them on with fish line. I'm certain there must be a better way.

I'm curious to here any advice on how to tag each cross, then how to maintain proper records in a book. Though I think the in-depth records will have to be a different post.

I've made a table with spaces for the cross number, and each parent. So I guess for now I'm just curious what's the easiest way to mark a blossom?

I realize that I have a LONG way to go, but I need to start somewhere.

I would appreciate any advice.
