transplanting siberan irises

craftlady07

My husband and I just moved into our first home this past december. We left behind some siberan irises at our old place (a rental). We're allowed to go back and dig up the perennials we left behind, some of which are these irises. I planted these irises last early summer and they did fine, but the lady that gave them to me had mentioned they had already bloomed by that point. Should I wait again this year until after they bloom to go dig them up and move them, or can I go get them now so I can actually enjoy them this year? Any precautions I should take? (I would not let them set out and dry out and my old house is only 20 mins away from my new house).

thanks in advance for any help?
