Arilbreds on TV

I'm not a big fan of arilbreds but I was channel surfing the other day and came across a PBS program about saving some vultures (!) from extinction in Israel. In one shot there was a magnificent clump of white arilbreds in the foreground. Had never thought of them as wildflowers!

Anyway, the shot just lasted a second, so unless you are a fanatic it's probably not worth the wait. But I know there are fanatics out there...

(And it seems that the israeli vultures have the same dooming habits as california condors. The eat any old junk they find, including shrapnel.)

Some are native wildflowers just like the PCIs in CA or the LAs in LA.

Arils are in danger from several sources.

Arilbreds are easier to grow than one might think. I grow and hybridize arilbreds in rainy, humid Mississippi. Elevation and sharp drainage are the keys to success.

Three quarterbred and halfbred are the easiest to grow with quarterbreds being quite temperamental, which is strange. They have the least aril blood in them.
