Comments (2)I have some Clems that are just barely poking out of the ground and others are blooming. I think how fast they wake up varies greatly. Don't be in a hurry to give up....See Moredaylilies not showing any signs of blooming
Comments (3)Hi Stacy, I'm over near Augusta, so its a bit warmer here than in Marietta. While my garden is near peak blooming, I do have a couple of established plant that are just now beginning to put up their first scape of the season. One in particular is not even emerging from the foliage yet - - its barely visible. Yours may be later season bloomers, too. Also, based on your comment that "they get plenty of morning sun..." they could take longer if that is all the sun they get. Most daylilies (except the real dark ones) can take full sun, even in Georgia! So, if in fact they only get the morning sun, they could be later than if they got the sun all day long. That isn't a bad thing, but you do have to wait longer! Larry...See MoreCrape Myrtle - No signs of life yet
Comments (4)Scratch the bark a little, if it is green under, then it is still alive, if it is not, then go closer to the base, and do the same, if there is no green around the base, it may be dead, but I have to say I doubt it is, I have one that was stored in its pot, dry all winter in a pretty cold area, froze solid a few times I'm sure, its in the greenhouse now with he maters, and a leaf has just sprout from a few inches above the base... Good luck....See MorePlants that are showing signs of new growth
Comments (12)The big clumps of soap aloes are mush, but when chopped and pulled back with a sharp hoe there's live green leaves to be found underneath. The stinky mush got pitched into the compost pile. Pitch forks are handy for that. Jamie one of my small newly-planted-last-fall thyralis shrubs has green bark, the other does not. Ordinarily they are evergreen. They have sparser leaves in winter, but a live reddish green. The blackfoot daisies that seeded themselves in caliche out by the street did not freeze back. Some of the ones in soil are dead. Four nerve daisies did not even stop blooming all winter and are really putting on a show right now! The leaves of Barbados cherry are crispy, but the bark is green. Okay, the taking a breathing spell accomplished. Back outside :-)...See Moreanitamo
