Gosh that is a sad story to tell, but I hope you have recovered well from your surgery! I wouldn't think that the SuperThrive and the Elenore's would still be in the soil? That was 8 months ago, it should have flushed through by now.......Have you checked for Mealies and mites? Checked the roots for rot?

I'd check things over really well and take some cuttings to be on the safe side. Be nice to his guitar as he tryed his best and you DID have plants to come home to....I would be happy that they lived at all!!! My DH would have killed them with kindness for sure:-)

Gosh, I don't think it is the ST or the Eleanors, as I have used them on & off sometimes in the winter with no ill effects. I suspect more that it is the cold temps. My lacunosas always have a hard time in winter & drop leaves. That one seems to like it warm and humid. When it gets cold and dry...they seem to suffer. Was it an Exotic Angel plant? If so...they seem to stay too wet also with the soil they use. Maybe it is a case of rotting roots. You may want to tap it out & check the root ball. Maybe some fresh soil. Hope this helps some. I also doubt it's either the Eleanor's or ST. I've put larger doses of ST on plants that seem to be ailing - it's really just trace minerals, so if anything, it probably would have give the plant a boost. (You wouldn't want to do this regularly just because it can cause too much fast growth which looks leggy...) And I use Eleanors one tablespoon per 1/2 gallon with every watering.

I would be more suspect of over or under watering. If the leaves are normal in thickness, it's probably over watering. (Sometimes they'll yellow before dropping...) If they're a little dehydrated, it's more likely under watering. Do you water on a schedule (like once a week...) or are you a "feeler?" My Mom is a schedule waterer and this is the kind of thing that will happen to her plants occasionally. It's because they need less water in winter and more in summer, to the schedule thing is less than ideal. Doesn't matter if they're inside or out. My Hoyas all stay in and they still take more water in summer.

And I think Marcy might be right - seems like my lacunosa does tend to lose a few more leaves in the winter months. I keep it in my sunroom, which isn't as warm as the rest of the house (and I keep my house pretty darned cool - usually around 60 or so..) Maybe I'll exchange it with one that's in a warmer location.

Lacunosa is one I can commonly find at HD or Lowes. If you need to replace it, I suggest you start watching at one of those stores.
